We are looking for a Strategic Growth & Sector Engagement Manager to join the Enginuity Charity team, reporting to the Group Strategy and Transformation Director. This is a senior role responsible for developing and managing high-value strategic partnerships and employer engagement across the engineering and manufacturing sector. The role is central to delivering Enginuity’s strategy by driving engagement that increases the impact of its charitable projects, products, and services, while also generating sustainable income to support long-term organisational growth.
You will work closely with employers, sector bodies and wider stakeholders to improve skills supply, workforce capability and inclusion, particularly for small and medium sized employers and underserved groups. You will lead the development and delivery of a strategic partnerships and employer engagement approach that responds to skills challenges across the engineering and manufacturing sector and supports Enginuity’s charitable objectives. This includes building and maintaining strong relationships with employers, funders, and industry organisations. Engagement with government bodies will be undertaken in collaboration with the Policy & Public Affairs team.

A key part of the role involves identifying and securing funding opportunities, including grants, tenders, and commissioned work. You will work with partners to develop compelling proposals and create new income-generating opportunities for the organisation. You will also oversee projects and initiatives arising from these partnerships, which will be delivered by the Impact & Delivery and Project Management Team , ensuring they are effectively executed and deliver clear, meaningful, and measurable impact.
You will also play a visible role across the sector, representing Enginuity at events, roundtables and conferences, and helping to strengthen its reputation as a trusted voice in skills. This includes working with marketing to support external communications, contributing insight and helping to shape engagement activity across Enginuity networks and communities such as the Enginuity Alliance.
Alongside this, you will lead and develop a team of Sector Engagement Leads, supporting their performance and creating a collaborative, high performing environment. You will ensure clear direction, strong communication and a consistent focus on delivering impact across all activity.
What we’re looking for
First and foremost you will have experience in a similar role, with a strong track record of leading teams and delivering results. You will be confident communicating with senior stakeholders and able to present clearly and credibly about the sector, Enginuity’s work and its products and services.
You will be a strong relationship builder, with experience of developing partnerships and engaging a wide range of stakeholders. A good understanding of the engineering and manufacturing sector, along with the wider education and skills landscape, will be important.
Strategic thinking is key, along with the ability to spot opportunities, connect ideas and develop practical plans. You will also bring commercial awareness, with experience of identifying opportunities, developing proposals and securing funding that supports both impact and sustainability.
Other skills which would be desirable however not needed to apply for the role
Experience working directly within the engineering and manufacturing sector would be beneficial, particularly where this supports a deeper understanding of industry challenges and opportunities. Familiarity with emerging technologies and their impact on skills would also be useful.
Experience engaging with the media, building sector communities or networks, and using CRM systems to manage and analyse stakeholder relationships would also add value in this role

About Us
The Enginuity Group exists to find new ways to close skills gaps in UK engineering and manufacturing in order to create a more productive sector at the forefront of designing, making and maintaining the solutions to society’s greatest challenges. Enginuity is a charity that has created a ‘common language’ for engineering and manufacturing occupation and skills data, to help employers have the right skills at the right time to adapt faster to change.
We use this unique approach to sector data, alongside our deep understanding of the skills needs of UK engineering and manufacturing businesses, to:
support engineering and manufacturing employers in discovering new sources of skills;
provide insights and recommendations on the skills that are increasingly in demand so businesses, sectors and government can plan ahead;
and alongside EAL, the Enginuity Group's specialist Awarding Organisation, End Point Assessment Organisation and skills partner for industry, connect organisations to ensure technical education is fit for purpose and keeps pace with changing industry needs, new technologies and the net-zero transition.
