About the role
The Governance, Assurance & Continuous Improvement team within EAL, part of the Enginuity Group, plays a key role in upholding the integrity, transparency and excellence of our qualifications and assessments. We ensure robust governance frameworks, provide assurance and promote a culture of continuous improvement across EAL.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Governance, Assurance and Continuous Improvement, the Assessment Quality and Standards Manager will provide expert, impartial guidance on the development, revision and quality assurance of qualifications and assessments. The role focuses on embedding quality, standards and regulatory compliance, taking an evidence-based approach to monitoring standards, identifying and mitigating risks, and strengthening quality practices across the organisation.
What you’ll be doing
You will provide leadership on assessment quality and standards matters, shaping EAL’s qualifications and assessment strategies and developing the quality and standards framework. This includes advising on qualification development and revision, quality assurance processes, marking, grading, awarding and standards setting, and leading the awarding process for externally assessed assessments.
You will lead the design and review of quality and standards documentation, conduct audits and reviews, and produce reports highlighting trends and risks. The role also involves ensuring ongoing regulatory compliance, proactively managing risk, representing EAL at external meetings, collaborating across teams to embed quality throughout the qualification lifecycle and overseeing relevant training to enhance organisational capability.
What we’re looking for
You will have an expert understanding of standard setting and maintenance across a range of assessment approaches, with significant experience of quality assurance, marking, grading and awarding within an Awarding Organisation. You will bring up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and the regulated Awarding Organisation environment, along with experience of risk identification and data-informed decision making.
You will be a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, able to convey complex information clearly to a range of audiences. Self-motivated and professional, you will demonstrate strong stakeholder management, the ability to lead high-performing teams, including remotely, and experience of working at Senior Management level and supporting change within assessment practice or organisational processes.

Remote/home based working at Enginuity
Your working hours will be 35 per week, working 9am until 5pm with a 1 hour lunch.
As a home-based employee you will fulfil your job responsibilities from home. Interactions with work and colleagues will be from a virtual environment. Depending on your role you will be required to either have some occasional travel or UK national travel. This travel will be required to allow you to fulfil different parts of your role and to meet colleagues on a quarterly basis. Other meetings that might require you to travel are events such as all colleague away days, training, and project work. Please review the advert to gain this insight to how much travel is expected. Also, ask at interview stage to confirm the frequency of travel and distance.
The company will provide you with the IT equipment required to carry out your role but it is a requirement that you provide all the necessary facilities for working from home; including broadband, home office, desk and chair.
