Technical Specialist

Permanent, Full time: 35 hours per week

Salary: £40,000 to £43,500 + benefits package

About the role

The Technical Specialist supports the charitable mission of the Enginuity Group by contributing to technical solutions initiatives, including national occupational standards, apprenticeship frameworks, and related qualifications. Working closely with cross-functional teams, industry stakeholders, educators, and government, the role ensures training and qualifications align with industry needs and workforce development goals. This role contributes to agreed problem statements and outcomes under a robust theory of change.

What you’ll be doing

Understand the Engineering & Manufacturing Landscape:

• Focus on future skills needs driven by emerging technologies and industrial digitalisation.
• Actively contribute to meetings, working groups, and content development.

Develop and Review Technical Solutions:

• Collaborate with experts and industry bodies to develop and update solutions like NOS and apprenticeship frameworks. Ensure content is current and accurate across platforms.

Consultation and Stakeholder Engagement:

• Lead or support consultations with employers, education providers, and government bodies to ensure solutions meet sector requirements.

Quality Assurance & Compliance:

• Ensure all technical outputs comply with regulatory standards.
• Stay informed on industry trends to maintain quality and relevance.

Technical Writing & Documentation:

• Produce clear, concise documentation, reports, and presentations for internal and external use.

Project Management:

• Oversee full lifecycle of technical solution development, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks are met.

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify and implement enhancements to technical solutions, incorporating best practices in vocational education and training.

What we’re looking for

• Experience of NOS and Apprenticeship Framework development and maintenance
• An up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the skills, development and qualification needs of the engineering and manufacturing sectors.
• Project management skills

• Experience of working in the Engineering/Manufacturing sector
• Ability to scan the technology landscape and understand the impact on skills

Remote/home based working at Enginuity

Your working hours will be 35 per week, working 9am until 5pm with a 1 hour lunch.

As a home-based employee you will fulfil your job responsibilities from home. Interactions with work and colleagues will be from a virtual environment. Depending on your role you will be required to either have some occasional travel or UK national travel. This travel will be required to allow you to fulfil different parts of your role and to meet colleagues on a quarterly basis. Other meetings that might require you to travel are events such as all colleague away days, training, and project work. Please review the advert to gain this insight to how much travel is expected. Also, ask at interview stage to confirm the frequency of travel and distance.

The company will provide you with the IT equipment required to carry out your role but it is a requirement that you provide all the necessary facilities for working from home; including broadband, home office, desk and chair.
